Dr. Suresh Kumar Rohilla is the Programme Director, Urban Water Programme at the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) and Head of the Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Water Management (Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India) at CSE. He holds a doctoral degree from Queen’s University Belfast, Northern Ireland (UK). He is British Chevening Fellow and trained in Environmental Management at the University of Bradford. He has postgraduate degree in Regional Planning from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi and in Geography from JNU, New Delhi. He also did a PG Diploma in Environmental Law offered by Centre of Environmental Law at WWF India. He has been nominated as an expert member of various committees, such as working group for 12th Five Year Plan on ‘Environmental Sustainability of India Cities’; Executive Committee of Uttar Pradesh State River Ganga Basin Authority; National Sustainable Habitat Mission Sub-committee(s); High Powered Committee on ‘EIA for town/town planning’, under direction of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India by Ministry of Urban Development. |
