Mr. Sudhakaran Nair started his plumbing career at Bombay in 1970, when he joined Nariman Nallaseth & Co. He was trained under Mr. Nallaseth and Mr. Pheroze Karaka, before being deputed to take charge of International Sanitation Co (Oman) LLC in 1976. During his stint of 13 years in Oman, he was responsible for completion of over 200 major plumbing contracts in association with architects, consultants and contractors from several parts of the world. In 1986, Mr. Nair, along with three of his colleagues and Mr. Nallaseth, started M/s Nallaseth Nair & Co. at Madras – probably the first large scale plumbing contracting company in South India. Nallaseth Nair & Co was subsequently renamed as Sudhakaran Nair & Co. Pvt. Ltd. (ESSENCO) in 1991. Over a period of more than 20 years, ESSENCO has been involved in completion of over 300 large projects. Mr. Nair is a Founder Member and current President of Indian Plumbing Association. He is the first Indian to be a member of the Executive Board of the World Plumbing Council (2005-2008).
