Kerala, with a hitherto predominant agrarian economy, has of late been expanding its horizons in the areas of Tourism, Healthcare, IT & ITeS, Education, Engineering & Automobiles, Infrastructure and Manufacturing sectors. Government of Kerala has planned a global summit – Emerging Kerala 2012 in September 2012, which is expected to position Kerala as Investor’s Own Destination! The collective efforts of public-private partnership are bound to create unlimited opportunities for investment as well as employment in Kerala. It is expected that close to Rs 25000 crores will be invested in Kochi alone, on various projects. This will make Kochi, a stronger Commercial Capital of Kerala. At the same time, the state capital - Thiruvananthpuram has already emerged as Medical Capital of Kerala! All these developments, obviously, will get reflected in real estate sector, which in turn, will also give rise to the demand for state-of-the-art plumbing installations in this region.
Kerala has another peculiarity - it is perhaps the only place in the country, which is bestowed with access to various types of water bodies - sea, rivers, waterfalls, backwaters and freshwater lakes! It is further blessed with an average annual rainfall of approximate 3000mm. But inspite of all these sources, drinking water is scarce here! Strange but true!! Against this backdrop, Indian Plumbing Association (IPA) and Akar InfoMedia Private Limited (AIM) have planned to organize Plumbing Convention at Kochi in Kerala. |
